Jason Wang - Culinary Entrepreneur Focused Growth and Authenticity
Jason Wang is the CEO of Xi’an Famous Foods, where he leads all aspects of the company’s operations and growth strategy. Since taking on this role, Jason Wang has focused on creating a foundation for scaling the business while allowing the brand to maintain quality and preserve the integrity of its culinary origins. Founded in 2005 by his father, Xi’an Famous Foods now has multiple locations across New York City, Boston, and Virginia.
Mr. Wang’s responsibilities as CEO include financial management, operational design, and team leadership. His approach emphasizes leveraging technology and data-informed decision-making to achieve optimal profitability, labor costs, and supply chain efficiency, as well as establishing a high-performance culture.
Born in Xi’an and raised in the United States, Mr. Wang pursued a business education at Washington University in St. Louis. After working in finance and marketing internships, he shifted focus to helping with the operation and development of Xi’an Famous Foods. He spent two years in backend positions such as cashier and line cook before assuming his first leadership role at the restaurant.
Since then, Jason Wang has earned multiple industry recognitions. This includes listings in Forbes 30 Under 30 and Crain’s 40 Under 40, as well as a nomination for a James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur in 2020.
